Children in need dress down day –  total raised £112.56 – thank you for your generosity.

I am still trying to gather a small group of parents/carers to speak to our learning partnership on Monday 2 December at 9:10 am.  If you are able to join us please complete this form.

Pupil absences – if your child is absent from school please notify the office by email or telephone as early as possible.

Weekly Update – 18 November 2024

Donations for the Toy Drive needed! Please drop off unwrapped gifts as soon as possible!

Pupil Progress Meetings – just a reminder that teacher meetings are for ten minutes.  To support the smooth running of the evening a bell will ring every ten minutes.

Coats – two requests! Please send all children in with a coat every day.  We always try to get outside and will do so even in light rain.  Put your child’s name on the coat.   We have a few missing coats – please can everyone check at home.

Park n Stride Site – As part of our Travel Action Plan, the Active Travel Team were tasked with identifying a ‘Park and Stride’ site a close distance from the school. They chose The Common as the perfect spot.
The Active Travel Team aims to promote daily active travel and to reduce traffic at the main entrance to the school. Therefore, they hope that the new park and stride location will help achieve these targets.   Click on this link to find out more information: JRSO and Active Travel Team

Weekly Update – 11 November 2024

Our whole school trip to the Byre theatre in St Andrews to watch Beauty and the Beast pantomime is not long away now.  We will be emailing details this week regarding payment of this special Christmastime experience.

Toydrive – we are accepting donations for the NE Fife Toydrive from now.  Please drop off at the school office.  If you would like to make a self-referral for your children to receive gifts from the toydrive please complete the following confidential form ASAP: click here.

Clubs and sporting achievements: Active Schools | Tayport Primary School

This week:

Monday 11th – odd socks day! We encourage everyone to attend school wearing their oddest socks! This is to celebrate differences as part of national anti-bullying week.  We will be acknowledging the minutes silence at 11am.  Poppies are still available for purchase.
Thursday  14th – Dress Down Day for Children in Need organised by our Global Citizens MAD group.  If you are able, a 50 p donation is welcomed, No football strips thank you.
 
Friday 15th – Inservice Day.  School closed to pupils

Active Schools:

Our Netball classes are conducted through a collaborative partnership with certified netball coaches from the University Netball Club, overseen by the Director of Netball to guarantee the delivery of high-quality session content infused with a sense of enjoyment and engagement.

Our coaching team tailor sessions to accommodate participants of varying abilities, ensuring that everyone experiences both learning and enjoyment. This inclusive environment not only facilitates the acquisition of new skills but also provides an excellent opportunity to forge new friendships.

Weekly Update – 4 November 2024

Class learning overviews for term 2 are now available on our website.  Follow this link and select your child’s class.  You can still review term 1’s learning showcase if you have not done so already!

Pupil progress meetings – please book as soon as possible.  All details on how to do this were emailed on Thursday 31 October.

P1-3 book bag gifting ceremonies – please note there is a change of date- The Scottish Book Trust bag gifting session will now take place on Thursday 21st November at 2:30pm.  One parent/carer is invited along to their child’s classroom to be part of the gifting ceremony.  If you have more than one child in P1-3 you are invited to move between both classes or alternatively another visitor can attend.  We will ring a short bell by 2:55pm to indicate that all visitors should leave the building  so that children can exit school in the usual manner at 3pm.

Remembrance – P7 will lay a poppy wreath at Tayport’s war memorial this Friday (8th) around 11am.  We are selling poppies in school if you wish to send in a donation (minimum of 50p please).

North East Fife Toy Drive – every year Tayport Primary supports this important local event by being a drop off point for gifts.  Our Community Champion MAD group will be organising this over the month of November.  If you wish for school to make a referral for gifts from the Toy Drive for your family please complete the confidential self-referral form: click here.
