Communication

Communication Strategy

Successful communication strategies are an integral part of building Carnegie Primary’s relationships with all stakeholders. We aim to have clear, effective and positive communication to achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils and their parents/carers.

We are looking to improve some of the existing communication tools in place and also develop and sustain new communication tools.

Twitter

We will move to engage with parents on twitter to promote school activities and give out useful information. We also want our twitter feed to be a place where we can promote a positive picture of the learning that is taking place here at Carnegie. You don’t need to have a twitter account to access information however you can follow us @CarnegiePS

If you are unsure of how to set up a twitter account but would like to follow the school, a member of the SLT will be available at Parents’ Night to help you with this.

SeeSaw

SeeSaw is a simple way for teachers and pupils to record what’s happening in the classroom. It is a secure online platform which documents learning and allows parent/teacher communication. Staff in some of our infant classes have been piloting this over the last few months. We are currently waiting on the arrival of school I-pads and hope to role this communication tool out across the school when they arrive.

School Website

The school website is in the process of being updated. The website will be a place where you can access up to date school information such as our School Improvement Plan, our end of session Standards and Quality report and information on Pupil Committees.

Facebook

Facebook will continue to be the main communication tool for our Parent Council. If you would like to follow the Parent Council page then you can search for Carnegie Primary Community in the groups section on Facebook. This page is used to promote the work of the Parent Council and is run by parents not staff.

Newsletters and Sharing the Learning

Every term you will receive a stage newsletter for your child. This details the learning that will take place over the term. It will also contain information on how you can support your child’s learning at home. Alongside stage newsletters a whole school newsletter will also be sent out every term. Further opportunities for communication between school and parents happen during our termly sharing the learning sessions.

Group Call

Group Call will also continue to be used to send information to parents. This means if you do not have access to social media platforms such as Twitter you will still receive all information posted.
