We are excited to let you all know that the final vacancies within the team are now online. This brings us toward the final stages of the service redesign. We have worked incredibly hard over the past 2 years to develop and enhance the service we offer to our children, families and educational establishments. We are preparing to move into our 2 new locations (in addition to our current provisions) to ensure we can offer a needs led, creative and flexible approach to working with the children and young people.

A quick blog note to wish everyone a restful and happy summer holiday. We look forward to seeing the staff back on the 17th August and the children back on the 21st August.
We had a fantastic afternoon in the sun with out amazing parents, children, families and staff in Oxgang School and Support Service. We were also delighted that some of our secondary pupils popped down (well cycled down) from Mariner Support Service for a quick refuel.
Everyone had their fill of burgers, hotdogs and other nice bits n bobs.
We said goodbye to some staff members as they move onto new things. We said goodbye to some children who love onto bigger and better things. Finally we welcomed new staff and family members into our community.
Have a brilliant summer and see you all on the other side!
This week we welcomed Vicky Greenwood from Education Scotland into Mariner Support Service. Vicky is leading on The Compassionate and Connected Classroom and interviewed lots of people within our community.
Vicky kindly passed on her thoughts and thanks:
“I would just like to say a huge thank you to you both and your staff, parents and young people for supporting us with our visit today. It was so helpful to spend a morning hearing from staff, parents and young people about the support they receive at the Mariner Support Service.
Thanks again for your support and welcoming us into your establishment.”
Our doors are always open to any visitors who would like to see the work we do across Primary and Secondary provisions located in Oxgang School and Support Service and Mariner Support Service.

We are delighted to share the most recent Education Scotland Inspection Report for our secondary provision, Mariner Support Service. The inspection was a positive experience for the service. We would like to send a huge THANKYOU to everyone across our community who took time to meet with the inspectors and celebrate the work Mariner Support Service does.
HMIe recognised many aspects of good practice and shared their views upon how the children and families experience a child centred and nurturing staff team who work incredibly hard to ensure positive outcomes for all of the Mariner Support Service community. With all inspections there are recommendations to support on-going improvement and development. We will look at how best to include these areas in our improvement planning across the following academic sessions.
The full Inspection report can be found at:
Both Oxgang School and Support Service and Mariner Support Service will reopen on Monday 5th March.
Thanks to all who helped with clearing a path to get in!
Mariner-Please be aware that not all the snow is gone, and there is limited access to the site. Help us keep the pupils safe by following staff directions and not blocking any routes. It may be necessary to drop pupils further up the lane and walk the final stages into school.
Oxgang- the car park is still covered in snow and taxis will drop off children at the school gates. Staff will meet them there and escort them into school safely.
