Supporting anxiety (intervention) ‘tools’

**New content will be added to this page periodically**

These ‘tools’ are provided to assist high quality interventions.  They can be used for single agency assistance (eg. education only) or when there is a multi-agency team around a child/young person.

The Named Person/Lead Professional and Team around the Child/Young Person will need to select interventions based on assessment undertaken and informed by the advice given about interventions on the previous pages of this blog/through training undertaken.

As with all assessment and intervention, involvement of parents/carers is essential to establish the partnership working required to continue to understand the child’s needs (assessment)  alongside and informed by the interventions used to supporting the anxiety.

Staged intervention

Practitioner’s using these interventions should have a strong understanding of the principles of staged intervention.

As you will see from the diagram, the toolkit aims to have interventions (supports) you can use across stages 1-3 of Falkirk Council Staged Intervention Framework

Some of these may be interventions you have tried before. Keep thinking of ways to continue to use and improve your use of these.

Some of the interventions may be new/unfamiliar to you. Make sure you read the information on these carefully and if you are unsure of using them seek advice first.

Staged approaches to intervention are designed to help us take the right course of action at the right time.
