We were so lucky to have had 2 visiting authors for our class on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th November. On Monday we had a visit from Robert J Harris who wrote the Artie Doyle mysteries (amongst many others). We retold a fantasy story using props about Loki and Thor (another of his book series) and had many questions for him regarding his journey to becoming an author. He was fascinating and we are looking forward to reading more of his books.
On Tuesday we had a visit from Gill Arbuthnott who has also written a huge range of books, particularly based around science topics and history. She told us all about her most recent book ‘The Secret Diary Of The First World War’ about a very young soldier (14) in WW1 called James Marchbank. This is a true story and we were totally enthralled by his time during the war and again had many questions for Gill, who made the whole subject interesting and relevant! Thank you to both authors for their fantastic visits!
