What a happy first week of our new session at Busby Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
It was so lovely to meet all of our new pupils and families and to see our returners back for another year.
Many thanks to all families for helping us settle in the children to their new nursery routines and to our new staff who have joined our team so enthusiastically.
We went to Pollok Park for our Summer trip this year. On our journey we visited Fairyland, climbed big hills, explored the wild woods, identified dinosaur bones and found various vegetables growing in the gardens. It was exciting to spot newts, tadpoles and dragonflies at the pond!
We have also been making the most of the good weather exploring and discovering in our playground and in the church garden.
By popular demand we will be doing a Nativity story. Everyone is invited! The church will be able to accommodate all families, friends and carers. The venue is Busby Church on Friday 15 December times are,
Morning session time is 10.30.
Afternoon session time 2pm
Everyone is welcome to come back to Nursery for teas and coffees after the performance. We would be grateful for a small donation.
After the Summer our garden is overgrown with weeds! We could hardly see our herbs and flowers. So we set to work with gardening tools and gloves, taking out all the weeds. Those dock leaves and dandelions have grown tall and have very deep roots! If you have any spare time, we would be delighted if you could help.
Thanks very much to all parents who came along to our information evening last Tuesday, May 2nd. This session shared details of 3 of our current initiatives, Skills Academy, Muddy Movers and Play Academy. For those who couldn’t make it, the attached Powerpoint file tells you a little about Muddy Movers, which is a programme of Physical activities designed to advance children’s physical skills and emotional resilience.
You are invited to a Williamwood Cluster Parent & Carer Workshop that has been arranged for Tuesday 7th March 2017 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in Cart Mill Family Centre.
The focus of the workshop is ‘The value of learning through play’ and our Educational Psychologists, Ainsley McGoldrick and Chris Atherton, will share research on why play is so important to children’s learning and on how best to support your child as they grow and develop. There will be time at the end of the session to ask any questions you might have. Tea and coffee will be available on arrival.
The Nativity is being staged at Busby Parish Church on Friday 16 December. Tickets are priced at £3.00 per person and include a programme ad refreshments. Children who attend the morning session will be performing at 10.00am. Tea, coffee and snack will be served in the school gym hall following the performance.
Children who attend the afternoon session will be performing at 1.45pm. Tea, coffee and snack will be served the Nursery following the performance.
