Here are some of our wonderful projects!
This afternoon we were learning about the Victorian Mill workers. We were thinking about what we learned at New Lanark and thought about Annie McLeod’s working day in more detail.
Our favourite part of the afternoon was when we took part in some drama Hot Seating. Molly acted in character and answered questions about her job as a Mill Worker. Molly was a fantastic Cotton Mill Worker.
Today is National Numeracy Day. We have been participating in lots of different Numeracy activities throughout the day. Since the weather is so beautiful today we decided to take our learning outdoors!
We practised our adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing! Some of us even made up our own new Numeracy games. We had so much fun!
Yesterday we took part in a Chilli Challenge in class.
” A Chilli Challenge is when you have a counter to complete but you can choose how challenging you want the counter to be” – Harry M
” The green chilli is the easiest chilli that you can do. This is good when you have learned something new” – Arran
” The orange chilli is a little bit more challenging. This is good when you are starting to become a bit more confident ” – Innes
” The red chilli is the most challenging one. You should try this chilli when you are really confident with something you have been learning” – Peggy
” Our Chilli Challenge yesterday was to use our dictionary skills to find certain words and read the information that explains what the word means” – Arjun
” When we finished our challenge we placed the correct chilli on our counter board to show our teachers which one we decided to do” – Daniel
Homework for week beginning 13th of May 2019
In class over the past few weeks we have had a Police Station in our Role Play area. When we started looking for items to use in our Role Play area we discovered that we didn’t have anything that was suitable in the school. We decided to ask Miss Edmonstone very nicely if we could buy some Police resources. We were very lucky and were allowed to buy some. We searched for the best items online and we picked a kit of Police items from Argos.
In class we have have had so much fun playing with our new area and we have even arrested our teachers for giving us too much work!
Maya told the class a super joke and we thought you would like to hear it too!
