Learning From P6

Today we were vistied by three members of Primary 6. They told us lots of interesting facts about The Victorian Times. We loved having them in our class. Thank you for coming in!

Gymnastics

On Monday Mrs Wilson and Kirsty came to teach us gymnastics. We had to practise balances, rolls, travelling along equipment and jumping off apparatus safely. We had so much fun.

New Lanark Class Trip

Yesterday we went on our class trip to New Lanark.

We had to get a bus and the drive felt so long! – Luke

We split up into two groups to do different activites. – Manno

We went to a workshop and were given a detective hat to investigate things from the past.  – Eve & Alistair

We went to a house from 200 years ago. – Arjun

We learnt that they often only had one room and that lots of people from the same family would live there.  – Saransh

We got to dress up one person from our little group as a Mill Worker. We had to select the correct clothes that we thought they would wear. -Peggy

We looked at items and had to pick out the ones that we thought wouldn’t belong in the past. As they didn’t have electricty they would use a gas lamp for lights.- Harry M

We learnt that poeple would go to the toilet in a ‘chanty’ and they would then throw it out of the window. We all thought that sounded disgusting. -Hamish

We went on a ride called the ‘Annie McLeod’ experience where we learnt lots of interesting facts about the past. – Ryley

We got to see what the inside of a real life Cotton Mill would look like. – Emily

We enjoyed going down the slide and playing hopscotch. – Ami

There was also a lovely park that we were allowed to play in. There was a big climbing frame, a throne for a King or Queen, and a little house.  It was very fun.  – Harry C, Maya, Blain, Ryley, Afie

Lastly we went into a threate to watch a short movie. It was about a time traveller who discussed life in the futrure and in the past. – Elise, Grace

I really enjoyed our trip and I loved all the fun things we got to do. – Isla
