To finish Book Week we completed our first reading challenge: we made reading dens in class this afternoon. We had a wonderful time getting snug and cosy to enjoy our favourite books.
This morning we read Fairy Stories we wrote with Mrs Jamieson to Mrs Wallace’s class. They really enjoyed our stories!
Tomorrow we will be reading our stories to P2a in the morning. After break we will be holding the P6 Book Swap in our room. Bring in a book you have enjoyed but would like to swap. You will place your no longer required book on the tables and can take any other book from the table to replace it. It is now your book to enjoy (and swap next year). We will be den building in the afternoon. Bring a onesie, dressing gown or cosy jumper, covers and blankets, a pillow and a good book to read (not swap). We will turn over our desks to make cosy nooks and enjoy reading together. You can even brig your favourite cuddily toy to keep you company!
Today we brought in our own devices. We took photos on our devices of the chemical reactions experiment using alka-seltzer, water and raisins. After a while the raisins started to dance. We wrote a report explaining all about It!
Today we did a science experiment. We used rasins Alka-sletzer and water. First we put 200ml of water in a beaker. Then we were given the Alka-sletzer tablet to put in the water with the rasins. as soon as we put the rasins in with the tablet and the water the rasins got surrounded with bubbles then some started to rise to the top. – Hannah

In school today we did a experiment. We used 10 raisins 1 alka seltzer and water. The water had a chemical reaction with the alka seltzer and created gas bubbles which were attracted to the raisins and floated up to the top then fell back down.
Today we did an experiment when we added Alka-Seltzer to water and placed raisins as well. When the Alka-Seltzer dissolved it made a chemical reaction and then dropped the raisins as gas bubbles float around them and lifting them up to the top and dropping it back to the ground
First we got a beaker and filled it with 200ml of water. Then we put in 1 Alka-Seltzer into it. Next we added 10 raisins and it started to fizz. The raisins sunk to the bottom and bubbles were attracted to the raisins. After that the gas bubbles lifted the raisins to the top of the beaker and then the gas evaporated into the atmosphere and the raisins fell to the bottom.

We first got a beaker then we added 200ml of water. Next we put 10 raisins into the water after that we dropped 1 Alka-seltzer. After that everything started to bubble. At first the raisins sunk to the bottom but then it floated up and down.
