This Week’s Learning

Primary 5 have been very busy and definitely deserve the upcoming holiday. I hope you all have an amazing October week and I can’t wait to hear all about it when you are back!

Literacy:
Morven- We have been practising to scan for information.
Myra- In writing, we have been learning how to describe a setting using our five senses.
Harley- In spelling, we have been learning the ‘long e’ sound.

Numeracy:
David- The circles have been learning about multiples.
Lewis- The triangles have been practising place value.
Evie- The squares have been learning how to divide 2 digit numbers with remainders.

RME:
Jack- We have been learning about Patron Saints and their celebrations. We did a whole class quiz afterwards to test our knowledge!

Topic:
Zara- We were finishing off our Africa topic with music and dance! We learned about different African and Scottish instruments and we listened to songs to compare. We even got to play the African Drums!
Expressive Arts:
Zara- As part of our topic, we then learned a traditional African dance called Dinhe and then we learned ceilidh dances.
We also learned the lyrics and meaning of the song “Waka Waka” which our class loves, where we sang along and danced- it was lots of fun!

Woodland:
Ethan- We made clay creatures that we would find in the woodland area! Then we went outside to play and to see if we could see any of the creatures we made.
