Week Beginning 13.06.22

This week we have focused on completing our short topic on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We still have a few chapters to go of the book but it has been so lovely to see the children so enthusiastic about the story and many have been bringing in their own copies to read along with. We completed our display which has been a joint effort with P3a.

St Cadocs

Quite a few of the boys in the class play for St Cadocs and on Thursday they each brought in an item they were presented with last week to show their commitment to their club. Well done boys!

Literacy

We have focused on spelling this week and completed activities to revise the spelling sounds we have learned along with our spelling words, common words and tricky words. This week we absolutely loved the game ‘Spelling Who am I?’ We worked in small groups and each person took a turn to have a spelling word stuck to their head. The other group members had to give them clues  by giving a rhyming word, synonym, antonym or an action. Once they guessed the word they then had to spell it correctly to score a point for their team. We loved it so much we have asked to play it again next week!

Pop Art

We learned about Pop Art this week and the artist Andy Warhol. We then created our own chocolate bar pop art. Don’t they look fantastic?

Outdoor Learning

This week we were challenged with creating some Minibeast art in the woodland area. We were only allowed to use natural materials. We were extremely keen and some of us created a few pieces. It was really lovely to see our creative imaginations really come alive!
