All Different, All Equal

The Rights Respecting Committee and Peer Mediators are helping us to focus on Article 2 of the UNCRC.

Article 2

All children have these rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what their parents do, what language they speak, what their religion is, whether they are a boy or girl, what their culture is, whether they have a disability, whether they are rich or poor. No child should be treated unfairly on any basis.

We are thinking about this during Anti-Bullying week (13th-17th November). This year the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s message is ‘All different, all equal’. We have discussed what this means and what it looks and sounds like in class and in the playground and are contributing to a whole school dispaly which will celebrate our wonderful diversity and similarities.

Term 2 P.E.

During Term 2 Primary 3 will be working on the following during P.E.

  • Fitness
  • Hockey
  • Basketball

Please ensure that your child is properly equipped for all P.E. sessions by making sure that they have the following kit:

  • suitable trainers
  • dark shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms
  • white t-shirt/polo top
  • water bottle
  • warm & waterproof clothes for outdoor sessions

Also, please make sure that all jewellery (earrings, rings, necklaces) can be removed on P.E. days for safety reasons. If not, jewellery should not be worn on P.E. days. Pupils can tape their jewellery but it is their own responsibility to do so.

Long hair should also be tied back.

P3 P.E. days are Monday & Thursday.

Working with other adults 👮👩‍🍳

As well as learning from our teachers and each other we have recently had some visitors to help us.

PC Trainer, the Campus Cop, came in to talk to us and P2. We found out about different aspects of his job and we also discussed ‘Stranger Danger’ with him.

Karen, our friendly catering manager, and her team invited us to the hall to learn about making food that is fun and healthy. We loved preparing different funny and yummy foods!

YESTERDAY WHEN WE DID COOKING I MADE KEBABS AND A WRAP. I LOVED IT!

YESTERDAY WHEN WE COOKED WITH KAREN I LIKED DOING THE WRAPS. I HAD CUCUMBER EYES, A HAM MOUTH, CHEESE HAIR AND A TUNA NOSE AND BOW. AFTER THAT I MADE A KEBAB WITH APPLE AND BANANA ON IT. I LIKED IT.

YESTERDAY WE MADE A WRAP FACE WITH VEGETABLES AND FRUIT ANIMALS. THEY WERE DELICIOUS!

Other than the medium, you should find no major changes to the format but do get in touch with any queries you may have. Please continue to use your child’s diary as a means to communicate with me.
