Term 1 reflection blog

Welcome everyone to our Term 1 reflection blog.  Here are some of the views of pupils from P7b.

Jessica B : Term 1 was a blast! I loved looking at all the new subjects, being challenged a lot more across the curriculum . In maths calculating the APR rate was a challenge but I liked trying to figure out the answers also fractions it was confusing but I loved it. I liked looking at the global goals also looking at Greta Thunberg she was really inspiring I hope to continue with them.

Elise: Some highlight for me this term were safety in the park, science road show at BHS and maths week.  Let’s start with safety in the park. Safety in the park is a street safety program that teaches 10 – 12 years olds about how to be safe out and about in our community and some other fantastic activities. Some of my favourite activities were the drunk goggles and the road accident scene . Another highlight was maths week. I enjoyed researching about famous mathematicians like Einstein E=MC2 and newton the man who discovered how gravity works and the 3 laws of motion.

Renaska K : This term has gone so quick, I love being in p7! My favourite parts have been learning about the global goals and doing drama. I knew about climate change, but I didn’t really know about the green gas house effect and the global goals. It was so interesting! Drama was amazing we did lots of different scenarios. I was in a group with, Conner g, Grace, and Daisy, it was all so fun!

Grace
: In term 1 I became vice captain of Arthurlie I was surprise and shocked I thought I never would be it.  A few wee weeks later we were learning about famous mathematicians and we were to make a poster in our groups we moved around the classroom. Today a person came in and was talking to us about John Muir.  He was talking to us about plants and how they help us every day.  Term 1 was a blast!

Callum: In term 1 I became house captain of Arthurlie. We each did a speech infront of other P7s and P6s. We had a vote and I got the most votes, each Thursday me and my vice-captain collect house points to try and get the end of term reward. I am delighted that out of 4 groups we came second with over 1 thousand house points! Gateside won and got the pizza party in our class, so far I am loving P7 and doing DIY classroom and my teacher is the best!

Abbie: In term one we did P.E and boys from barrhed high school came and showed us some games. They also took control of some activities we had so much. we loved having the boys work with us they were also very nice and good at explaining the rules!  Term one has been so good, I can’t wait for term 2.

Alisha: This term has been a blast and we have learned so much.  My favourite had to be when we got into groups and of three or four to do drama.  One of the best parts was me and Olivia being aliens and we had to turn Cameron into an alien too.  This was so fun because we made an odd alien language that we all needed to speak it was so cool just like the fun games we played like swish and skoosh splat.  I have great fin and learned so much.

Tyler: At the start of the term we learned about landscapes and the features of them, then we worked on APR rate and finance in maths and I found I quite tricky but I feel like a I still improved a lot! During this time practised on drama specifically improve and we started to create our own scripts. Now we have recently been learning about The Global Goals along with Greta Thunberg (I particularly like this). All in all I have enjoyed term 1 a lot and am exited for next term!

Olivia: My highlights of the first term of primary7 are learning about the global goals.  It has been wonderful learning about climate change and learning about how I can help to make our planet healthy. Another thing is I have enjoyed about p7 is on a Thursday we always do drama which is so fun my favourite part of drama is the scenarios because we can express our self and do what we think is right. Another thing is safety in the park I liked learning things we wouldn’t usually learn about things we wouldn’t usually learn about . P.E was also so fun because wo were pushing ourselves to get fitter. The last thing I enjoyed was when me and my best friend got stuck outside which was so fun this year has definitely the best year I have ever had so far

Cameron: In term one we appointed house captains. Everyone from one team would stand up at the once close our eyes and vote by putting our hands up. The first topic was on global goals the global goals is the environmental society which is things that we can do to help the world so it doesn’t end within 80 years or so. We watched a 16 year old girl who left her country to go to the other side of the ocean to say a speech in front of the world leaders about global goals because the world leaders aren’t doing enough to try and save our planet.
