School Closure due to European Union Referendum
You will no doubt be aware that the date of the European Union Referendum has now been decided as Thursday 23 June 2016.
Thornliebank Primary School will be made available for polling purposes on the above date and as such, it will be closed to staff and pupils.

Book Fair
We would like to remind all parents and carers that our Book Fair is available ever day after school from 3.00pm – 3.30pm.

Book Week and World Book Day
Friday 6th March is World Book Day. Pupils should come to school dressed as their favourite book character that day. Pupils will be given a competition to take part in this Friday and prizes will be given out at the World Book Day assembly on Friday 6th March.
Our annual Book Fayre will begin on Monday 9th March. The book stalls will be open during the day and after school for pupils to buy books. Each year we are able to pick a large number of books for classes and the school library from the commission made.
We would like to thank you in advance for your support with this.
Rag Bag Collection
Our Eco Committee have organised a Rag Bag collection. Yesterday the distributed bags to the pupils. If you have clothing, shoes, handbags or other items you wish to recycle, please fill the bags and return to the school office. Rag Bag is a textile recycling company and we recieve funds for the school for each bag that is returned.

Parent Council Meeting
Our next Parent Council Meeting is at 1.30pm this Wednesday (14th January). It will be held in the school. Please come along.
Parent Workshops
On Tuesday 1 April, during our Parent/Teacher interviews we will be holding workshops on Anti-bullying and Explore Information Literacy. Please see attached letter for times of these workshops. They will be led by Siobhan McColgan, Head Teacher. Please come along.

Book Fair
Our annual Book Fair has arrived! It will be open to pupils for browsing tomorrow and then for buying books on Monday and Tuesday. The Book Fair will also be open from 3.00pm – 3.30pm on Thursday, Monday and Tuesday.
School Photographs
On Friday 7 March, 2014 Nursery photographs will be taken and then on Monday 10 March the photographer will be back to take school photographs. This year it is class photographs.
