Our Lady of the Missions PSA Summer Fete – URGENT APPEAL!

The response for donations for the Summer Fete has been disappointing.
If EVERY CHILD could bring in 1 or 2 items from the list below,
our stalls would be very healthy indeed!
DONATIONS
Teddies/Soft Toys – in good condition
Toys – in good condition and any boxed games well sealed;
Children’s books (no adult books this year);
Tombola gifts and gift bags of any shape and size or celebration theme. Gifts can include new toys, jewellery, toiletries, etc
Bottles – Wine, beer, juice, tomato ketchup or conditioner – any bottle much appreciated
Home baking – always a popular stall so let’s see lots of cup cakes, gingerbreads, shortbreads, scones, traybakes and other goodies
Donations can be handed in to the school any time from now onwards, with home baking on Friday, May 31st (when the school will be open until 8pm) or from 11am on Saturday, June 1st.
WE RELY ON YOUR DONATIONS FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE FETE!

East Renfrewshire Confucius Classroom Hub Showcase Event

As you know our Primary 7 classes have benefited from the teaching of Mandarin this session.  Mrs Zhou, the Mandarin teacher from St. Ninian’s, has not only introduced the language, but has presented many aspects of Chinese culture to the children, including Tai Chi and Chinese Calligraphy.
To celebrate the success of the programme, the East Renfrewshire Confucius Classroom Hub invites you to a Showcase Event on
Wednesday 5 June 2013 in St. Ninian’s High School from 6 – 8.30pm. Continue reading East Renfrewshire Confucius Classroom Hub Showcase Event

Money Week 3rd – 7th June

Curriculum for Excellence recognises the importance of building financial capability in all young people. At Our Lady of the Missions, children experience financial education in a range of contexts throughout the school year.

This year, along with schools across the country, we will be participating in ‘Money Week’. During this week each class will participate in activities related to money and financial planning to enhance their understanding and show them how the skills they are learning in school are applied in the wider world.

 If you have any ideas or expertise related to this area (perhaps you run your own business and could share your experience with a class) then we would be delighted to hear from you.

 Further information relating to Financial Education and Money Week can be found on the following websites:
