Family Lenten Retreat
Family Lenten Retreat – Sunday 11th February 3pm-4.30pm @ St Joseph’s Church Hall
You and your family are warmly invited to a short Lenten Retreat at St Joseph’s Church hall.
Please join us as we offer some prayerful and practical ideas for families to enjoy a more meaningful Lenten period.
Teas/Coffee, cakes and biscuits will be available. (Lent won’t have started)

Online Safety Workshop

This workshop is designed to increase parents’ and carers’ awareness of bullying and the other risks and challenges children and young people can face online. The workshop includes a practical, hands-on session, looking at how to set and manage profiles and privacy settings on different social networking platforms, to help ensure that children and young people are safe online.
Responding to Bullying – Parents’ Workshop
Thursday, 29 March 2018, 2-4pm, (Glasgow)
This workshop is designed to increase parents’ and carers’ awareness of bullying behaviour and to look at the different ways they can respond if their child is being bullied, or is involved in the bullying of others. This workshop also offers guidance on how schools and parents can work together to create inclusive environments and provide effective support for children and young people.

You may have noticed in the media this week that Early Years Scotland, in partnership with Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and the Daily Record, has been extensively promoting and advertising our exciting first ever Careers Morning.
Early Years Scotland has been funded by SDS to organise and deliver this event to support the national expansion of the ELC workforce by 2020.

ProJudo – Judo for Beginners: P1-7
Your child has taken part in a Judo Taster Session today.
We would like to offer your child an opportunity to experience a new sport in your area. This programme is a partnership between East Renfrewshire Active Schools and ProJudo Club. School Application Week for a Primary 1 place
Applications for places in East Renfrewshire primary schools will take place from Monday 15 January until Friday 19 January between 1.45pm and 3.30pm. Parents and carers of children who will be five-years-old between March 2018 and February 2019 should apply to their local denominational or non-denominational school at this time. A number of documents are required to be brought along for the application process, and it is important these are produced so that the application process runs as smoothly as possible. Documents required are:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Current Council Tax notice
- Roman Catholic baptismal certificate (if applicable)
- Mortgage statement or rental agreement for a period of at least one year
- Child benefit statement
- Driving licence, utility bill or bank statement can also be accepted if no longer in receipt of child benefit
