Thank you to everyone for taking part in Superhero Day as we helped raise some money for Clyde1 Cash for Kids.
Gemma Harley, one of our pupils made an amazing Superhero cake for her class and some of our classes took part in a quiz.
Miss Philo and class Orkney organised a few super hero hampers to raffle and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the very kind donations.
At assembly our raffle winners were announced and also the best dressed costume. Congratulations to Rosie and her mum who decorated a Wonder Woman T-shirt.

Class Jura also performed their version of the Gruffalo at the assembly. We are all so proud, what great achievements for them all.
Man’s World will be in school on Wednesday 18th May from 10 – 11:30am.
Uniform will be available for purchase on the day.
It was a lovely sunny day yesterday and Class Tiree and Whalsay decided to go on an adventure, looking for minibeasts in the school grounds.
They found a ladybird, some worms, spiders, bees, beetles, centipede and slugs and snails, all very exciting!
They then looked at their minibeasts through magnifying glasses and recorded our Mairwaves blog.
Thank you to everyone who came to our very first AAC@IMS Communication Club last night.
It was lovely to see everyone and have the opportunity to share ideas and success stories.
Many thanks to one of our parents, Tracey Campbell for organising the club with support from school staff and we look forward to the upcoming events to support our young people with communication.

They spent some time giving our benches a makeover and they are now looking fabulous, photos to follow.

Isobel Mair School works in partnership with East
Renfrewshire Disability Action ERDC and the Corporate Equality Unit to ensure that we all and work together, celebrating success.
One of our senior pupils, Katherine Butler has recently celebrated her 18th Birthday.
She had a party for family and friends and instead of gifts, she asked everyone to donate some money for a chosen charity.
Katherine is delighted to tell everyone that she has donated the magnificent sum of £444 to charity.
Well done Katherine on your very generous gesture.

The AAC@IMS Communucation Club will take place on the following dates:
Wednesday 11th May and 25th May from 7-8pm.
Thursday 8th June and 23rd June from 7-8pm.
We look forward to seeing you, siblings are welcome to attend.
The Communication club will be coordinated by Tracy Campbell with support from school.
Class Arran and the ISS@IMS pupils have made community links with Greenlaw Grove Care Home as part of Class Arran’s Community Involvement N1 SQA and ISS@IMS N3 Wellbeing Award.
They had previously visited Greenlaw Grove and had a tour of the building and sampled the amazing food in the Café, courtesy of Greenlaw Grove
On Thursday 29 April, both groups returned to Greenlaw Grove to put on a Scottish Dance performance for the residents.
Their next joint Community Involvement Activity will take place on Tuesday 24 May, when the residents from Greenlaw Grove will visit IMS to join in with some Scottish Dancing. They will then be offered tea and cakes, made and served by the ISS@IMS pupils.

The final Parent Equalities Forum of this session will take place on Thursday 12 May in Mearns Primary School at 7pm.
This will take the form of a ‘showcase’ event with some schools presenting on the work they have been doing around equalities.
Classes Arran and Shetland worked together to present
their assembly to all the senior pupils this afternoon.
They presented a whistle-stop tour of Scotland with music and dance.
Another first for IMS…… the students from class Shetland
supported our Reels on Wheels group, to a great
cheer from everyone.
Class Arran presented Anthony with a thank you card for being a great peer mentor to his friends. Well done Anthony.
