The children have access to our garden, outdoor sandpit and our Mud Kitchen all year round. The children help to grow a range of fruits and vegetables in the nursery garden. We also visit the woods regularly to learn about the local environment.  We provide waterproofs for outdoor learning, but please help your child to be prepared for cold and wet weather with a warm, waterproof jacket, wellington boots, hat and gloves. This ensures they can enjoy learning, whatever the weather.

“There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.”
Scandinavian proverb

Please ensure your child comes to the family centre prepared for our unpredictable Scottish weather!  At Hazeldene, we aim to be a Sun Safe Nursery. In summer months children should come to the centre wearing a sunhat which protects their head and shades their face, neck and ears and sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or above.
