About Us

Hazeldene Family Centre was originally built as part of Mearnskirk Hospital. It was converted to a nursery school in 1997 and  became a Family Centre in 2014.

We have 3 bright and attractive playrooms and spacious gardens. We make very good use of the local environment and the children visit the woods regularly.

Our staff are committed to providing the highest quality learning experiences for all of the children to help them achieve their best potential. We follow local and national guidelines for Curriculum for Excellence for Children 3-18. For a few children who are at an earlier stage in their development, we use the Pre-Birth to Three national guidelines.

We are part of the Mearns Castle Cluster and work closely with various local schools in the area. The family centre is non-denominational and we respect and welcome families from all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds.

We value our partnership with parents very highly and recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their child. Children develop a greater sense of wellbeing and their learning benefits from close working relationships between their parents and staff.

Throughout the family centre we seek to build mutual trust, respect and warm and caring relationships.
