Hello,
As part of our Mearns Masters, we’ve been making breakfast items in our cookery block. We’ve made a range of items including scrambled eggs, pancakes and smoothies. We’ve also linked these to our writing lessons to create instructions.
We’ve really enjoyed our cooking experience and the learning opportunities it’s created for all of us!
Mrs. Latif & Mrs. Kheirabi
Hello,
Apologies for the lack of blog posts as I was having some issues gaining access but thankfully got access now and can keep everyone updated with what we have been learning about!
This week, as part of STEM week, we were lucky to have Reggaelicious visit us in school to tell us a little bit about how they developed the idea of their food truck business, the types of dishes they cook and serve, where their ingredients come from and how they source these ingredients.
It was very interesting as there were many ingredients most of us had never heard of including plantain, jackfruit and yams! We were able to see some of them in person which was very exciting.
When we got back to class, we discussed what type of food trucks we would like to have, the menu we would have and how to ensure our food trucks were inviting, eye-catching and that they had a catchy name for people to remember us by. We’ll be designing our own food truck as the week goes on.
Thanks,
Mrs. Latif

We have had a lot of fun in class this week. We have been learning lots of new skills. We created our own decorations. We found this a little tricky at first but with hard work, determination and team work we all managed to do it!

Today we had lots of fun at our Christmas party. We showed off our fabulous dance moves and took part in some traditional party games. Then, he headed back to class for some yummy snacks, we are so thankful that we got to do this. Thank you to all that made it happen.

In P.E we have been learning some Scottish dances. We ended our party by showing off all that we had learned so far!

Mathematics Some of us in mathematics this week have been developing our skills on measuring and using the correct tools to measure different things. We especially enjoyed writing on the desks…oops!

Bookvent Our Bookvent calendar is growing! We can’t wait to begin reading our books on the 1st December.

Today, we had a class discussion about what we could post on our blog. We decided to tell you all about the different things that we have been learning this week.

In class, we have all been developing our knowledge of shape by learning about 3D shapes, the properties of 3D shapes and Tessellation. Here are some pictures of us working hard!

We have been developing our spelling and Dictionary skills by finding the meaning of our spelling words!

This term, we are going to be learning about a significant individual from the past. As a class, we looked at different Scottish Inventors and we chose which one we would like to learn about. We will be learning about John Logie Baird and his invention of the Television.
Primary 3 have had a very busy week! We started our week by visiting our Maths Week Showcase, performed our fantastic solo talks AND had a little Halloween fashion show to show off all of our fabulous costumes.
