๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿค– Parent showcase ๐Ÿ’ป

This afternoon, pupils in P4.19 enjoyed taking the role of the teacher and sharing ย their knowledge learned during the Coders pathways in Mearns Masters.ย

Pupils showed parents how to code an emoji matrix on a Sphero, create and informative animation on Scratch and how to use the Lego WeDoโ€™s.

We hope all the parents who came along enjoyed the experience as much as we did!

Engineering Lego Challenge

What fun the class had taking part in an engineering Lego challenge. Learning about energy, where it comes from and where it goes. Pupils developed their understanding of sustainability, their ability to work in groups and showed their creative side when applying their new knowledge to create new Lego designs.

A great project to finish off the year together in P4.

๐Ÿ–ผ Self Portrait Time ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽจ

P4.19 have been learning how each and every person is unique and have different skills and abilities. Weโ€™ve been looking at different artists and their styles when creating portraits and pupils then chose their own approach to create their unique self portrait.

It was wonderful to see different approaches being taken to make their very own unique representations of themselves.

To finish off outdoor learning we practised our French numbers to 30 with some games. ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ทย

Following the leader, practising our racket grip, spatial awareness and ball control.

Pupils then very quickly started having to increase their own โ€˜keeps uppyโ€™ targets and some even moved on to side racket challenges.

.

Lastly pupils completed rallies and increased their level of challenge by increasing our decreasing the distance between partners.

Showing great tennis promise in P4.19!

๐Ÿงซ ๐Ÿ’งScience – All About Water ๐Ÿ’ง ๐Ÿงช

Today we discussed the importance of water. We revised the properties of water describing three different states of water, as a solid, a liquid and a gas. We also looked at how molecules make up each with pupils helping to demonstrate molecules moving.

Pupils then made predictions about whether different substance were soluble and insoluble. Looking forward to doing more next week!

During the experiment pupils practised measuring water, they learned that to get an accurate reading they needed to place the measuring jug on the table.
