On Friday morning a lifeguard called Richard visited us. He taught us how to stay safe near water and told us how to get help in an emergency.
Jamie tried on the lifeguards uniform. Β Doesnβt he look fantastic! Β He said it was very heavy and hard to move in.
This morning we had a visit from one of the rangers from Whitelees Country Park. Β She taught us all about Leatherback turtles. Β She told us that they are endangered and are dying because they are eating lots of the rubbish and plastic people throw into the see.
Gemma from The Dogs Trust visited us yesterday. She taught us how to be safe and smart around dogs.
We have been learning about the importance of washing our hands properly to be Germbusters.
We learned a new hand washing song and designed posters to put up in the nursery and the school to promote the importance of washing our hands.

The whole school took part in an assembly this afternoon to launch our STEM fortnight. Β Dr Peter Hughes OBE lead the assembly.

This is the first week of STEM fortnight. Over the next two weeks we will be participating in lots of fun and exciting STEM activities.
This morning Geraldine, a volunteer from WaterAid visited. We learned about the importance of having clean, running water and how this charity is helping people in other countries have access to this by providing them with water pumps and clean water storage.
