This week we have been learning ie, ee and or.

We are getting very good at using our knowledge of sounds to read and write words. Look how well we are doing!

What a great time we had collecting bits and pieces to make our outdoor clock and everyone really enjoyed showing the o’clock times using pine cones as the hour hand and a big long stick as the minute hand.
And the fun continues…………
We have been using our fine motor skills to hammer nails into our pumpkins. We used real hammers and nails but don’t worry we learned all about using these safely before we took part and we all followed the safety rules.

Making pumpkins
We used our cutting and gluing skills to make glowing pumpkins.

Counting bones
We used our number recognition and counting skills when playing our counting bones game. The winner collected the most bones.

We have had lots of fun taking part in Halloween activities today.

Some of us used our knowledge of letter sounds and words to write magic spells.

We had great fun with our sensory pumpkins and gloopy slime- some of us got a bit messy!
We read the story Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson then we made a witches house and acted out the story. We created our own stories using these resources and acted these out too.
We have been retelling familiar stories using our fairytale puppets. Goldilocks is one of our favourites!

We have also been learning to tell the time using o’clock . We loved using the small clocks to show different o’clock times.

This week we have been learning to add two numbers together. We used cubes to help us and some of us had a go at writing calculations.
