Today we were lucky with the weather, the drizzly rain stayed away for us and we were dry for our morning of adjective adventures.
Here are some photos of us working and playing together developing our descriptive language skills.

We have had a busy week learning about tens and units and place value.
We have been using lots of different activities to help us with exchanging and carrying.
We have also been doing lots of active spelling activities to help us with our sight words.
This week we have been focusing on healthy eating. We discussed what foods are healthy and sorted the different foods.

Today was dry but chilly for most of our time outdoors, so we were glad we took out our jackets just incase. 😊
We organised ourselves into the months of our birthdays to start off today. Knowing important facts like the date and month we were born in is really helpful when we are playing games to organise ourselves, just like knowing where our name comes in the alphabet, it’s good to know when our birthdays come in the year.
Using different strategies like ‘friends of ten’ and ‘double numbers’ is useful when we are adding lots of numbers together. So we practised doing this today in our teams using stones. Here are some photographs of us working together doing just that.
And here are two great videos of Sam and Mayar explaining how to group numbers together to make it easier to work out the total of all the numbers given.
We have had a very busy week back!
We have been doing lots of reading and building up our reading comprehension skills.
This week we have been writing brilliant recounts all about our holidays. We included lots of details and wrote fantastic sentences.
Today we had a great day coming to school in our sleepwear!
We had lots of fun doing P.E and values play in our pyjamas.
Have a great weekend everyone!

We started off our outdoor session today doing a friends of ten hunt….a bit like an Easter egg hunt, but with numbers instead of eggs! We all had great fun playing this and were exhausted after we had played it quite a few times!
Next, we spent some time looking at abject outside and deciding if they were symmetrical or not before creating our own superb symmetrical patterns using natural materials we found outside.
We also spotted some really interesting little crawling creatures. They moved around too much to be able to tell if they were symmetrical though!
This week we have been involved in lots of activities all about Easter!
We learned about why people celebrate Easter and why it is an important holiday for some people.

We we looked at the season Spring and what is associated with Spring. We used our cutting skills and used lots of different materials to create our very own hatching chicken. They turned out fantastic!

We made a little Easter basket as well for the Easter bunny to put a special treat in!
We wish everyone a lovely relaxing break!

This week we have been using looking at number bonds to 20 and different ways to show them.
We used lots of different activities to help us with our number bonds.
In social studies we have been learning all about Knights and Castles. We learned about the different parts of knights armour and what knights lives were like.
We have also been learning about different types of patterns and how to practise mindfulness when we feel upset.
In health and well-being we thought about kindness and what it means to be a good friend. We created kindness posters and thought about lots of ways to be kind to others.

The weather was chilly and drizzly this morning but it didn’t dampen our spirits as we went on a triangle hunt and organised ourselves into a triangle before we started our other activities.
We were learning today about ‘friends of ten’ , that’s two numbers that add together to make ten. This is a really important part of numeracy and we all have to learn these facts so we know the pairs without even having to think about it! Here are some photos of us playing and working on remembering the facts.
This week we have been focusing on science and maths as part of our STEm fortnight. We have been looking at lots of different areas of science and maths.
We have been working on lots of ways to show different number bonds and looking at making symmetrical pictures. We also had a video call with an engineer and we designed our own railways of 5e future!
We also had a great time at our mini sports day. We took part in lots of different activities in the lovely warm weather.

A great outdoor learning session was had by all today in the sun. After organising ourselves into the shape of a square we played some warm up games focusing on listening and watching before heading off to explore the school grounds.
We learned all about keeping safe and making decisions to make sure we are never at high risk of being hurt or finding ourselves in a dangerous situation.
After that, we had fun making squares out of sticks remembering that a square must have four equal sides and four right angles.
Here are some photos of our day.
