⚑️ Spark Park fundraiser fun day! ⚑️

What a lovely welcome back to school after the holidays! We started today with the wonderful pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, it was great to see so many smiles and laughing faces this morning!

Β More excitement followed quickly after with a visit from the author Aisling Fowler. The pupils got their imaginative minds bubbling when challenged to create their own main character and setting.

Finally pupils were challenged to participate in a range of different activities to push them physically!

What a first day back!

πŸ‘ πŸ’« Star pupils for the week and awards from Maths Week! πŸ’« πŸ‘

Pupil’s had lots to celebrate in class today with 5 children winning Sumdog awards for their hard work and participation during the National Sumdog competition!Β

Two pupils were also awarded star pupils for their exceptionally positive attitudes towards learning leading to great personal success in class! Well done P4.19! πŸ‘

🎢Music time 🎻

Today two of our pupils were unable to attend their usual music lesson so instead they gave the class a crash course in the differences between the viola and the violin. They each took a turn to play a piece of music they had been learning toomu. We look forward to hearing more from them as the year goes on!

Ukrainian Paska πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

For our last turn in the kitchen the children in P4.19 chose to make Ukrainian paska. This was a first for everyone and we really enjoyed the process!

Β Some pupils liked using their hands to combine the dough more that others! πŸ–Β πŸ€šΒ

After some proving time and enjoying decorating our dough it was time to taste, another success! Recommending some slightly altered cooking times next time due to a very efficient oven, however smiles all round!

Throughout our time in the kitchen, P4.19 have been reflecting on different meta skills, they chose to assess their focus, collaboration and communication skills. As the weeks went on P4.19 all saw positive improvements to their team work, in particular being able to refer to the recipe, take turns and support each other during each step. Pupils not only enjoyed the cooking experience but also became a dab hand at cleaning up and learnt many new skills practising!
