Spooky problem solving to start the day!
It was then time to get our creative side flowing learning to blend colours to make a spooky background, canโt wait to see the end result!

Pupils have been working hard in their PE lessons to work hard as part of a team. During capture the flag pupils huddled together for team talks and to create tactics for trying to beat their opponent. This week we worked better ensuring we let everyone have a turn to try and score a point running with the flag! Well done everyone!
Who doesnโt love a disco with lots of sweets and treats! The pupils enjoyed showing off their wonderful costumes tonight, a wonderful effort all round. We learnt very quickly what the meaning of a sugar high was!
Weโve been working hard practising our basketball skills. As a class we are getting much more confident at dribbling and shooting! This week each team scored lots of baskets with a slightly lower basket to aim for.
What a lovely welcome back to school after the holidays! We started today with the wonderful pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, it was great to see so many smiles and laughing faces this morning!
ย More excitement followed quickly after with a visit from the author Aisling Fowler. The pupils got their imaginative minds bubbling when challenged to create their own main character and setting.
Finally pupils were challenged to participate in a range of different activities to push them physically!
What a first day back!
Pupilโs had lots to celebrate in class today with 5 children winning Sumdog awards for their hard work and participation during the National Sumdog competition!ย
Two pupils were also awarded star pupils for their exceptionally positive attitudes towards learning leading to great personal success in class! Well done P4.19! ๐
Today two of our pupils were unable to attend their usual music lesson so instead they gave the class a crash course in the differences between the viola and the violin. They each took a turn to play a piece of music they had been learning toomu. We look forward to hearing more from them as the year goes on!
For our last turn in the kitchen the children in P4.19 chose to make Ukrainian paska. This was a first for everyone and we really enjoyed the process!
ย Some pupils liked using their hands to combine the dough more that others! ๐ย ๐คย
After some proving time and enjoying decorating our dough it was time to taste, another success! Recommending some slightly altered cooking times next time due to a very efficient oven, however smiles all round!
Throughout our time in the kitchen, P4.19 have been reflecting on different meta skills, they chose to assess their focus, collaboration and communication skills. As the weeks went on P4.19 all saw positive improvements to their team work, in particular being able to refer to the recipe, take turns and support each other during each step. Pupils not only enjoyed the cooking experience but also became a dab hand at cleaning up and learnt many new skills practising!
Maths continues into PE this week when pupil competed in different time challenges including a class plank challenge!
We then played an adapted version of corners working out different number problems ย to pick the corner that was out next, the rain might have stopped us going out but it didnโt stop us having fun!
Finally, when there was a break in the rain we headed outside to play a game that relied on knowledge and reflexes about even and odd numbers.
Pupils competitively took part trying to beat the class and their partners!
To revise shape we went on a shape hunt around the school and very much realised shapes were everywhere! Some were trickier to find that others however pupils were determined to find them all!
All our shape have work then helped with our wonderful artwork…watch this space!
