We spent our morning carrying out research in the library for our nonfiction books. This allowed us to develop our use of contents pages, glossaries and index’s as well as building our note taking skills and general knowledge. It was fun finding out where in the library our information would be.

Budding Authors
The children have been inspired to start writing their own nonfiction books. Everyone was able to choose their own area of interest and we have spent the last few weeks researching and note taking. Today we looked at how chapters within non fiction are structured and made a start on writing our first chapters.
Gastronomers
Today we started planning for our next Mearns Masters Pathway The Gastronomers. Our design brief is to research and create seasonal Scottish soups using a range of different cooking techniques, while excluding common allergens.
This morning we started researching seasonal vegetables and herbs using the Chromebooks and gave thought to the different soups we might make.

Congratulations to everyone that took part in the class stage of the Burns competition. Our class winner will go forward to compete in the P4 stage later today.
The Nativity
This morning we were delighted to welcome a member of our pastoral care team into our classroom who came to tell us the story of the first Christmas.
