Yesterday we were exploring area and then we used our new skills to create robots before calculating their area.

Today Miss Morrison and the children were exploring money. They were making amounts and calculating change. The activities were challenging and fun!

Reading Skills – Genre
This week we have started to explore Genre. We watched a quick media clip explaining genre and then the children had to look at different texts and decide which genre they belonged to. They had to share the features of the text that supported their answer.
They were very interested in the poetry and play so we will be exploring more texts like these in the coming weeks.
The children have been challenged to read a wide variety of genres in their personal reading and this morning there was a great variety of texts being enjoyed.

Last week one of our families thoughtfully gave us a whole pile of beginners piano books which will allow the children to steadily improve their playing.
Another family kindly sent in a home grown succulent to add to our class garden which is coming along beautifully. If you have any plants at home that have had mini ones we would love to receive more, we have plenty of spider plants though!
