Pancake Day!

Today was Pancake Day. So, first we saw the recipe of how to make pancakes. We always wash our hands before cooking. We used our measuring skills to add the right amount of ingredients. We got to taste the pancakes with butter or jam and they were delicious!

Sentence and story writing

We had great fun working with jumbled sentences. At first we had to arrange the words in the right order and then we practised writing the sentences. We are also getting good at story writing and have started to include lots of details in our stories. In class we always celebrate our success and give our opinions to each other’s work.

Food chain

In Science, we have learned about the costal ecosystem. This week we extended our learning and investigated different food chains. We know that plants and animals are linked together by different food chains through which the energy flows in a circle. We had fun making our simple food chains!

Valentine’s Day!

What could be a better way to finish off the week by celebrating Valentine’s Day? First we watched the story about bishop Valentine and had a class discussion on why people actually celebrate Valentine’s Day. Thereafter, we all made cards for our dear ones.

Reading books!

We are getting better in our reading skills.  We can read words using our phonics knowledge, understand the meaning, and also can scan the words. We always help each other to get better in reading. Reading together is fun!

Number Fact Families!

This was a short week, but we have managed to learn quite a lot in maths. We have started looking at the number fact families, practised subtraction using concrete materials-counters/number lines, and also revised double numbers.

Little genius!

We continued being creative using our imagination skills  with construction materials; Lego’s, Kaplas and with little world settings. We kept on challenging ourselves making more and more complex structures. Look at our beautiful creations!

Maths magic!

We continued working hard in maths as we practised addition, subtraction, number stories and number sequences. We are using different maths games, concrete materials and loose parts to help us understand our tasks.

Writing stories!

We are getting good at writing our own stories. First we have to plan  our stories with the help of the story boards. We decided what our characters would be, the settings, problems and then solutions. We were very proud to share our stories with the class!
