This week, we worked on different calculations such as adding two numbers & to top it all of, we started working on subtraction too! We played a game that involves passing a ball & counting (At the same time!). We were so good in counting that we carried on, & ended up to counting 100! We also started working on tally marks…getting smarter every day!
We are getting better & better in Phonics each day. We are making words by blending different sounds, learning about the tricky words & even trying to write simple sentences. Look at the amazing progress in our writing!
In primary 1, we love learning through play. This week, we worked on the days of the week. We loved singing the song & we played spotting the right day game. It was quite tricky, walking in baby steps but as always with a little practice, we managed to succeed (As our class moto is “we never give up”)!
In primary 1.1, we have been learning about how different animals survive the cold winter. We learned all about hibernation, the long sleep some animals do to survive the harsh Winter. We were really curious & our discussion then expanded to investigate how some animals migrate to warmer places. We loved singing the hibernation song & doing all the fun activities. Our favourite activity was to make strong houses for the animals with blocks, Kaplas & Lego blocks & then Mrs Patra came with an air-bazooka & tried to break our houses. Our Winter homes for animals were really strong & we also tried the air- bazooka. It was great fun!
Today we went to the ICT room & worked on computers. We were working on how to move the mouse & how to log on to the computers. We then had a go on writing our names. We were really good at our mouse control skills!
This week we worked on three new sounds z, w & ng. We did lots of practice on these sounds & worked really hard on blending sounds to make words.
Library lady(June), came to visit us this week. She told us many stories & gave each of us a book bag to take home! Inside the bag, there were lots of gifts for us, apart from some story books. Our job is to read those books at home & choose which one our favourite book is. We loved listening to the pop-up story books!
We were really excited for our Cinema Trip on Friday. We went to Silverburn to watch “The Secret Life of Pets 2”. We thoroughly enjoyed the movie & when we came back to the class, we drew our favourite characters from the movie. We wanted to say a huge thank you to, our parent helpers for making our trip so safe & easy!
