P5.17 Blog 2023/24

In maths we were learning about 2D shapes which tile so we decided to learn more about tiling and created a Halloween tessellation pattern in art! 

Yesterday 3.10 wrote an imaginative story all about a haunted mansion! They used some super spooky vocabulary and watched a clip of hotel Transylvania to inspire their ideas! Well done boys and girls! 

Some finished pictures! We used oil pastels to blend the colours and create different tones and shading. 

Today we did some imaginative writing based on our topic about Neil Armstrong. To begin we watched the launch of a real life rocket and even watched some footage of an astronaut in space! 

We learned about calculating the area! We decided to design our own theme parks and created a key for them. Then we calculated the area of each ride/ section of the theme park! 

We continued looking at collecting and recording information but this time using tally charts and bar graphs! 

This week for maths week 3.10 went on a virtual trip to  the theme park. We observed and recorded information using pictograms. We even managed a ride on a rollercoaster too!

Yesterday we took part in the Highland Games House Challenge. Some of the events included caber toss, discus, obstacle course and shot put.
