Ecosystems!

We have started learning about Ecosystems in Science. We now know that an ecosystem is made up of all the living things and non-living things in an area. It can be of any size; as small as a puddle or big as oceans. First, we investigated what kind of living and non-living things we can find around us and then watched a video on different ecosystems. We were fascinated by the amazing facts of our diverse planet, Earth! We went outside to explore our school compound and to spot any ecosystems we can find. We were very good in spotting small ecosystem under logs and even found flies and worms in the puddles along with the non-living things like water, soil, stones and logs. We will be doing lots of fun activities on different ecosystems in the next following weeks!

Fun with ice!

We were learning about ice in primary 1.1. We loved rescuing trapped teddies from the frozen ice cubes. It was great fun! We know that ice melts into water & if we heat water, it will turn into steam/water vapour. We were investigating about the three states of water. We also tried some ice painting. It was quite messy but we loved it. Look at our colourful artwork!

Christmas Party!

We had great fun at our Christmas party. We danced & played lots of fun games like musical statues, pass the parcel, choose a corner, etc. There were prizes for the winners as well! We enjoyed Christmas movies with crisps & juice & then Santa came to visit us. He was looking for his missing elf. We all helped him to find his naughty elf & we all got gifts from Santa!

Exploring the Solar System!

We carried on learning about Solar System this week. We were exploring about the different planets & loved singing the solar system song that will help us to remember the order of the planets. Look at all the fun activities we tried in order to investigate our universe.

Play and festive fun continues!

As the festive season is coming close, we had lots of fun activities going on in our class. We were very busy this week practicing our nativity song in front of the whole school. We made a snow man Christmas card, decorated and made plaster of Paris bowls for chocolates to sell in the Christmas Fair. We managed to play with our favourite toys & have fun as well!

Hibernation

In primary 1.1, we have been learning about how different animals survive the cold winter. We learned all about hibernation, the long sleep some animals do to survive the harsh Winter. We were really curious & our discussion then expanded to investigate how some animals migrate to warmer places. We loved singing the hibernation song & doing all the fun activities. Our favourite activity was to make strong houses for the animals with blocks, Kaplas & Lego blocks & then Mrs Patra came with an air-bazooka & tried to break our houses. Our Winter homes for animals were really strong & we also tried the air- bazooka. It was great fun!
