Quite often children draw the same thing in the same way again and again, so we tried a dinosaur drawing tutorial today. The children were amazed at how good their results were! 😃🦕🦖

Dominoes
Dominoes are great at teach number shape, taking turns and counting. We played a few games today. Lots of children had never played before! ( They don’t know what they are missing!)
Numbers to 100
For some children today, our challenge today was to complete the number square jigsaws. They took a lot of concentration, but we got there in the end!
Beautiful Writing
We started to learn joined up writing. Mrs Arbuckle was very surprised at our first attempt as we were so good at it. We were very proud of ourselves.
Building Construction
Mrs Short takes us on a Tuesday morning while Mrs Arbuckle prepares and plans our work. Today we learned about.how buildings are constructed. We had to plan and, design and construct different houses from different materials.
Alphabet
Now that we know our sounds, we start to learn the alphabet, capital letters, letter names and alphabetical order.
We learned the letter names last week and had to say it and write down the letters. It was quite tricky.
Calculations
We were writing our calculations using two dice. One dice had numbers up to 6 and the other dice had a mixture of numbers from 7 to 20 on them. We used our number lines to help us.
Wonders of The World
We loved looking at what was happening in different parts of the world on live cams. We saw elephants playing in water; pandas having fun on a swing with their mum; dogs in a rescue centre; birds in the wild; and watched the sunset at the beach in Hawaii. It was very relaxing.
We used these cams to discuss the animals and realise that other things go on in other parts of the world that we live in.
Jigsaw Fiends
P2.6 do enjoy a jigsaw. Jigsaws are great. They encourage discussion, logical thinking, persistence and spacial awareness. We all need those skills in life. Completing a jigsaw is immensely satisfying.
Making Words
We used our knowledge of phonics and spelling to cut put letters from magazines and newspapers and make words. It was quite tricky to do.
