Ball Skills
In PE we were developing our passing skills. Once we had worked on passing to a partner we made it trickier by passing with a defender in the way!
Supporting Detail
To continue our work on Main Idea and Supporting detail we applied the strategies to a media clip.
First we watched the clip then we worked in teams to discuss and agree upon the main idea of the clip. We used supporting details to justify our main idea decision.
It was fun applying our strategies in a new context!
Congratulations
Congratulations to our certificate winners this week!
Star Pupils
Congratulations to this weeks star pupils!
Main Idea – Supporting Details
After learning about the strategies for finding the main idea of a text we decided to look more closely at supporting details.
In teams we read through sentences that provided supporting details linked to animal survival and matched them with the main idea.
We had to work together to cut out the sentences, listen to them carefully and then discuss which main idea they were linked to. It was challenging and fun!
Handwriting
We have been striving to improve our handwriting in P4. It has been fun learning new joins and developing our handwriting style.
The Queen
In the morning we had a whole school assembly to commemorate the Queen. Then this afternoon we shared cucumber sandwiches and shortbread while talking about our memories of the Queen.
Medicines
This afternoon we started our new health focus where we will be learning about medicines.
To start we discussed what medicines were and then we went on to work in groups to discuss the different ways medicines can be given.
We came up with lots of different ways including:
- Injections
- Tablets
- Creams
- Inhalers
- Liquids
We are excited to learn about medicines and the different illnesses they can treat and prevent.
Celebrating Success
Today there were certificates for our star pupils, well done!
Then two children received awards from Mrs Noble for their fabulous language work.
What lovely reasons to celebrate!
