Our reading skill this week is Main Idea. Yesterday we learned some strategies for finding out the main idea from a text. They included:
- Looking at the title and headings
- Reading the first and last sentences or paragraphs
- Searching for repeated information
Then we worked in groups to figure out the main idea of a collection of mini paragraphs using the strategies above.
Today we are applying our knowledge to an unseen text to see if we can use our new skills.
