In 4.14 we greatly enjoy improving our handwriting. The jotters we use have lines in them that show us the correct sizes for both lower case and upper case letters. It is exciting learning lots of new joins this year!
During maths we have been exploring the good habits that people can develop to improve their understanding and attainment in maths. These are know as the Mearns Maths Habits.
Today we took a closer look at them and over the next few weeks we will be extending our understanding and skill of using these habits within our maths. We even have a handy wee record sheet to track our use of these habits in our learning.
To mark World Teacher day we spent time this morning discussing what makes a great teacher. Then we each created a character profile to show the qualities we look for in a teacher.

This morning the janitor arrived at our classroom with a mystery parcel! When we opened it we were delighted to find a whole pile of books about the Queens Jubilee and there were enough copies for everyone to take one home. What a lovely treat!
