We looked at the story of the poppy and how dreadful life was for men in the trenches in the First World. We observed the Two Minute Silence in class. We made beautiful poppies just like the poppies that grew in France.

Values Play
On a Friday, we still have our our values play as incentive to adhere to our school values.
More Problem Solving
We have been learning more strategies about how to solve problems. Today’s strategy was ” Draw it out”.
Adjectives
We have been doing lots of work on adjectives this week to use in our writing and extend it. We had to describe the monsters.
Problem Solving : Act Out The Situation
We are having a problem solving week and learning a different strategy every day this week. Today’s strategy was to “Act out the situation”. Our problem was to find the tallest and smallest in each group and then the whole class. It took a while, but we got there in the end!
Calculations
We have been busy working on our calculations and trying to use our mental strategies to add and subtract. We can still use a number line if we need it, though.
