Morning Snowdrops!

How are you all? Here are some activities for you to try at home this week:

Numeracy

What day is it today? It’s Monday. Can you sign Monday?

The following song is one we use in class to learn the days of the week.

Have a go at signing Monday.

Watch the following Singing Hands song. I know a few children in the class will like this one:

Can you count the firemen? Can you say or sign the numbers?

Literacy

This week we will practise using our fine motor skills. Gather some penne pasta, buttons, cheerios or any thread-able objects and a shoelace, pipe cleaner, piece of wool (put Sellotape round the end of wool to make it easier to thread), or straws and make some necklaces or bracelets.

You could also use spaghetti stuck in playdough to practise threading.

LGBT month story:

This week, our story is called Giraffe’s Can’t Dance. Can you sign or say giraffe?

Which actions were kind and which were unkind?

Feel free to do any of the other reading or writing activities from previous weeks too.

Health & Wellbeing

This week, we’re going to try and spread our own sandwich or make a sandwich for someone else. Follow these instructions with the help of an adult:

Topic – Balamory

Archie the Inventor in Balamory, uses household objects to invent things to help people.

Here is Archie in action:

Nobby is Archie’s robot assistant.

Can you use recyclable items to make your own Nobby the Robot? What other creations could you and your family make?

We thought we’d let you know about Tac Pac resources. Tac Pac sessions are sensory experiences we do in the classroom and a member of staff has put together a ‘at home Tac Pac’ kit for you to try if you think your child might benefit from it. Here is the link:

We hope you have a good week!

Remember, next Monday – Wednesday is a school holiday. 🙂
