What is the role of the Parent Council?

The Parent Council is a group of parents and carers who have volunteered to assist in activities with regards to school improvement and to take decisions in school management issues that impact directly upon the quality of education for the young people in our school.

Fundraising

We would like to share with you all about a way that you can generate commission based payments to the Robert Burns Fund Raising Committee. This will allow us to support our children through their journey at RBA.

There is over 7,000 brands that are registered with Easy Fundraising. A brilliant example lately was a parent bought their car insurance via their usual insurer but by accessing the webpage from the easy funding app or webpage generated £12.50 commission for us.

With Christmas just around the corner setting this up will help us massively.

All you need to do is

1. Visit the following webpage
www.easyfundraising.org.uk

2. Sign up and get started

3. Once you have a login please then visit “support a cause”

4. Please search “RBA Parent Council, Cumnock”

5. From then on when you shop online retailers will pay us a certain percentage of commission which after 3 months is added to our account with them and it can be withdrawn and added to the fundraising committee bank account which when we have sufficient funds we can pay for things that happen for our children whilst in education at RBA

6. Once you have a log in you can visit your device settings and create an “Extension” this will mean any website that you shop on from your browser will automatically ask you each time if you’d like to donate to the RBA Parent Council fund, this takes away the need to remember to shop via the Easy Fundraising App.

Please note you do not lose any loyalty points that you would usually earn such as clubcard points and nectar points etc. Also please note you do not pay a higher price to shop this way nothing for you is effected, it’s simply a loyalty scheme.

Connect has a range of resources to support you child and your family. Any parent with a child at RBA can create their own account., just follow the steps below:

Visit https://connect.scot/register then select ‘The PC/PTA at my child’s school is a member of Connect’ then the local authority (East Ayrshire) and the school (The Robert Burns Academy) from the drop down menus then set up an account by registering an email address and setting up a password.  This login will be unique to each parent/member of staff and is valid for the term of our membership (until 31st July 2025).
