P5B Christmas Art

P5B swapped teacher on Thursday afternoon and therefore Mr Fraser Ritchie led the lesson. Fraser had been experimenting with some paper craft at home and brought his ideas into the classroom. He taught us how to create a Christmas tree using some paper craft, cutting and sticking skills. All of us enjoyed Mr Ritchie leading the lesson instead as same old Miss Black! download tongue out emoji with winking eye icon

Show Reminder

Just a quick reminder for all Primary 5 classes. Children should wear a white polo t-shirt or blouse for tomorrow’s day performance of Onthank’s Greatest Show and the same for Thursday night’s evening performance. If the children do not have either a white polo t-shirt or blouse then a white t-shirt is ok too.

Well done to everyone yesterday, we have had a lot of positive feedback on the show. Keep up the good work!

P5B Christmas tree origami

P5B took part in making their own Christmas tree origami. We watched a step by step video  on how to create our Christmas trees using green card. This was a different type of activity for us as some children had never tried making origami before. The task looked easier than expected for some of us; but after bearing with it for some time and being patient the majority got there in the end! Miss Black was extra chuffed to be one of the successful people to have created her tree 😀.

Sophie, Alex and Leah were super happy to have created their trees with Alex explaining “it looked easier in the video!”

Lucie and Faye were super assistants for Miss Black.

P5B Homework wb – 19.11.18

P5B have been given homework words consisting of the ‘ee’ sound this week, children should also choose a chilli challenge activity from the spelling grid and complete it either in their jotters or a separate piece of paper. Maths homework is on Heinemann Active Maths and is related to our new topic of 2D and 3D Shape.

P5B Collecting Old Household Items

In the run up to the Christmas period P5B will be collecting household items such as milk bottle lids, beer bottle tops, bottle corks, twigs, pine cones, acorns, buttons and toilet roll tubes.

All of these items will be useful for making our Christmas crafts. It would be much appreciated if children could collect these items over the next fortnight or so in their free time and bring them into school ready to create their Christmas Fayre items.

Thanks for your support,   Miss Black and P5B!

P5B Growth Mindset

P5B have been learning about positive attitudes, emotions and growth mindset throughout their health and wellbeing topic. This afternoon we took part in a yoga exercise where we focussed on calming strategies as well as  discussing our emotions on a daily basis.
