P5B Christmas Art

P5B swapped teacher on Thursday afternoon and therefore Mr Fraser Ritchie led the lesson. Fraser had been experimenting with some paper craft at home and brought his ideas into the classroom. He taught us how to create a Christmas tree using some paper craft, cutting and sticking skills. All of us enjoyed Mr Ritchie leading the lesson instead as same old Miss Black! download tongue out emoji with winking eye icon

Show Reminder

Just a quick reminder for all Primary 5 classes. Children should wear a white polo t-shirt or blouse for tomorrow’s day performance of Onthank’s Greatest Show and the same for Thursday night’s evening performance. If the children do not have either a white polo t-shirt or blouse then a white t-shirt is ok too.

Well done to everyone yesterday, we have had a lot of positive feedback on the show. Keep up the good work!

P5E update

Primary 5E have been working very hard over term 2. Here are some of the things we have been doing:

Researching Africa. Pupils were given a country to research and then present their work to the class. Their work is our class display !

We have also been exploring fractions of quantities and pupils were asked to decorate a Christmas tree based on the fraction description assigned.

And finally we had some fun creating a snow globe scene using chalk, crayons, pastels, glitter and jewels. We are not all finished yet so here’s a small selection of completed snow globes.

P5E are such a talented bunch!

P5B Christmas tree origami

P5B took part in making their own Christmas tree origami. We watched a step by step video  on how to create our Christmas trees using green card. This was a different type of activity for us as some children had never tried making origami before. The task looked easier than expected for some of us; but after bearing with it for some time and being patient the majority got there in the end! Miss Black was extra chuffed to be one of the successful people to have created her tree 😀.

Sophie, Alex and Leah were super happy to have created their trees with Alex explaining “it looked easier in the video!”

Lucie and Faye were super assistants for Miss Black.
