We have been working extra hard to reach our target over the last few weeks, even on World Book Day we were out building up our steps!!
Our Mission to the Moon continues and over the next 3 weeks we will be attempting to cover the 3, 417 miles to the location of Mount Carmel in Israel!

Next Wednesday (22nd March) there will be no P3/4 after school Multi-Sports Club due to our Pupil Progress Meetings taking place.
A local kinship group will be taking place in the community and coming together on a weekly basis to help and support each other, and most importantly support young people in their care. The group have a base where they will be meeting regularly. This will be within the Centrestage base and will take place every Thursday 11am-1pm.

Everyone at Mount Carmel is continuing to work very, very hard to reach our target on our Mission to the Moon!
We were delighted to have had some special visitors to the school last week to meet with our Eco Committee and have a look at all the hard work we have been doing to promote Mount Carmel’s Mission to the Moon journey. We are super proud to have our picture on the East Ayrshire Launch page promoting our journey.

Primary 3 and 4 have organised a SCIAF fun day for the whole school this Wednesday 8th March. Children across the school will take part in a range of activities they have prepared. School uniform to be worn.
A suggested £1 cash donation for this event.
The school will close at 2.30pm on Friday 31st March for the Easter break. Children who normally go home by taxi will be collect at 2pm.

Primary 5 chose to have an afternoon of fun and games in the pe hall this afternoon as their rainbow reward. As you can see, they had a ball!! Next week they have chosen to being their bikes and scooters into school for an afternoon outside. Please ensure that they bring their helmets in with their outdoor toys as they will be unable to take part without one. Thank you, Mrs McCreadie

Don’t forget it’s World Book Day tomorrow (Thursday 2nd March).
We are looking forward to seeing the children dressed up as characters from their favourite books if they wish OR you can just “Dress as you please” You don’t need to stress about buying a costume, why not customize some old clothes you already have at home?
And if you don’t feel like dressing up. that’s ok too, you can still take part in all the fun activities throughout the day!
Primary 7 will take part in their next transition visit on Thursday 2nd March. Children will leave for St Josephs just after 9am and will be back at Mount Carmel for lunch time. Please note that children should wear full school uniform this day (not own clothes as part of World Book Day activities).

This is the first week of our “Mission to the Moon” where we are encouraging families in active travel to and from school.
Please encourage children to walk, cycle, scoot to school and help us build up our S-miles and reach our targets. If a Parent/carer/sibling participates too they also collect S-miles!
