Our Friends of Mount Carmel Easter Raffle is now closed!
The raffle will be drawn this Friday. Good Luck everyone!

A reminder that this Friday 4th April the school will close at 2.30pm for the Easter Break. Children who travel by taxi will be collected at 2pm.
Today we announced the cast for our upcoming Summer Show ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’. The children have worked incredibly hard throughout the audition process and we are so proud of their enthusiasm, bravery and talent.
We understand that some children may feel disappointed if they didn’t receive the part they were hoping for. However, every role – whether a lead, ensemble or behind the scenes helper – is crucial to making our show a success.
We reminded the children that theatre is about more than just individual roles; it’s about storytelling, teamwork, and having fun! Every member of the cast and crew is valued, and we cannot wait to see them shine on stage.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to an amazing production!

P3 will be having an outdoor afternoon this Thursday. (3rd April)
There will be a range of outdoor toys available. Children are also welcome to bring a bike or scooter. Safety helmets must be brought and worn if your child brings a bike or scooter.
We are looking forward to a lovely afternoon in the Spring sunshine!

P3 had lots of fun during our SCIAF Art and Craft day.
We enjoyed making some very creative and colourful Easter bonnets – don’t they all look fabulous!

AND THE WINNER IS….
Aidan in Primary 2.

Well done Aidan and thank you to everyone who bought a ticket for our March Raffle. Keep your eyes peeled for our special Easter raffle prize.
On Wednesday, we welcomed into school our beautiful Sister Juliet and Frank from SCIAF. Frank talked to us about where our money was going and why our fundraising is so important.
We are so proud of our children in Mount Carmel School, raising so much money for people who are less fortunate than us. To quote Frank, our children are “a shining example pf what a well behaved school looks like.”
Well done to everyone!

Next Friday the children in P3 will be watching Moana 2 , the movie. This film is rated PG. If you do not wish your child to watch this movie please contact the school office and let us know.
Thanks

When reporting your childs absence from school please speak to a member of staff as our absence line isn’t working at present.
Please do not leave messages on the answer phone either as this is unavailable at present
We hope to have this rectified as soon as possible
Please see enclosed information regarding some fun family activities available to all during the Easter Holidays

A reminder that tomorrow and Wednesday are our Pupil Progress Meetings. If you are unsure of your child’s appointment time please contact the school office.
There will be no P5/6 boys football on Wednesday 26th due to this.
Primary 6 took advantage of the beautiful sunshine today and got out and about completing some data handling in our local community.

We were so excited to kick off our SCIAF FUN DAY with a visit from STRYDER.
Stryder helps us to walk to school as much as we can as it helps us to keep fit and helps our environment too!!

We would like to congratulate our wonderful children in making their sacrament of Reconciliation. They were absolutely wonderful and we agree with Father Jim that they behaved like angels.
Well done everyone 💙

Congratulations to our fabulous Primary 3 children, who celebrated the lovely sacrament of confession for the first time last night.
Thank you to Fr Jim for making it such a memorable and prayerful celebration, and also thank you to the P4 children who came along and celebrated the sacrament with their P3 friends.
Please keep the children in your prayers as they continue on their faith journeys.

Reminder that Share the Learning for Primary 3 will take place on Monday 24th March at 2pm.
We are delighted to announce that we will have a very special visitor in our playground tomorrow morning. Stryder will be in school before 9 o’clock to welcome the children in before the day begins, Make sure to give them a big wave if you see them!

The trip is booked for Wednesday 18th June . The buses will leave the school at 9.30am and the children will be back at school in time for normal school pick up at 3pm.
If your child does not wish to attend the trip, they will need to stay at home on the day as there will be no provision for them in school.
We are very grateful to St. Vincent De Paul who have made a very generous donation towards our buses which has helped to keep the cost per child down.
We have set up the trip on Parentpay today with an initial NON- REFUNDABLE deposit of £8 payable by Friday 2nd May . This will leave only one more payment of £8 to be paid by Friday 30th May.
Permission forms will be sent home this week. These must be returned no later than Friday 30th May.

Reminder that Share the Learning for Primary 3 will take place on Monday 24th March at 2pm.
Here are some pictures of P4 enjoying our ‘Crazy hair and Odd Sock’ Day’. Some of our class even managed to incorporate their class topic ‘Fairtrade’ into the day.

What a talented P4 and her mum, these look delicious….

Can you spot the owner of the odd socks?
