The infant staff at Mount Carmel are very excited to welcome the children back to school on Monday. In preperation for this, the team have prepared a short video for each of the classes to get the children ready for their return. We would really appreciate it if our parents could make sure the children watch these videos as there is information for parents and children regarding the new rules we have put in place. Your class teachers will send you these videos on the usual platforms (email for P1 and P2 and TEAMS for P3)See you all on Monday!!
Please see the letter below regarding Remote Learning plans for Primary 4-7.
Please see the letter below detailing our plans for pupil return on Monday 22nd February.
This Thursday and Friday will look a little different as we take a focus on our Health and Wellbeing. The tasks that will be assigned for these days will look at the social, emotional and mental well being of our children with some fun acitivites to be completed along the way. There will also be some outdoor learning ( weather permitting) so if your child attends school on these days , then please ensure they are wrapped up for the weather. An example of a time table for these two days will be sent to you by the class teachers. As always, thank you for your on going support.

The-Exchange is now providing counselling and emotional and psychological support for Mount Carmel Primary.  The service provides a private space where children and young people can talk about things which are troubling them. Talking things over with a professional can help children to find better ways to cope with difficulties. If your child’s teacher or a key adult within the school feels that counselling may be beneficial to them, they will always contact you before making a referral to The-Exchange. For children under the age of 12, parental consent is required in order for the child to attend the counselling or psychological support sessions. When supporting children under the age of 12, The Exchange involve parents at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the process with an aim to improve the overall resilience and psychological wellbeing of the family. This service will be available for children aged 10 and over.
If you would like further information, please contact Mrs Fergusson.

Remote learning 1st Feb parent letter
This week the Primary 6 Writing learning intention was to write in Scots. Primary 6 had two writing tasks to complete. The first was to describe themselves in Scots and the second was to write about their favourite food in Scots.
I have created a PDF book to showcase their amazing Scots Writing. Click on the link below.

During this period of Remote Learning the children are being introduced to new concepts. When working on this class teachers will generally revise a piece of related learning and then introduce the new learning. If your child finds this new learning challenging please try to reassure them that they will develop in their understanding. Class teachers will make it clear to children when new learning is taking place.
Thank you for your continuing support.
Class teachers have been completing check-in phonecalls with children. If your child is currently receiving in school provision then they will not receive a class teacher phonecall as they are having check-ins in school.
Thank you.
