All of the staff at Mount Carmel and looking forward to seeing the children return on Monday. We have missed them over the holidays and cannot wait to see how much they have grown.
Children in Primary 2 should line up outside the open area, Primary 3 line up as the Primary 3’s did last year. Primary 6 and 7 will line up at the middle playground and Primary 4 and 5 will line up at the front playground.
A reminder regarding snacks that we are a nut free school. Children must not bring snacks or lunch items that contain nuts.
Our Uniform Exchange will be open again on Thursday 17th August and Friday 18th August. Please come along and take anything that you require. We still have a wide selection of good quality school uniform, jackets, and shoes. We also have some new items as well as good condition school bags and packed lunch boxes.
It was with heavy hearts today that we listened to Fr Martin announce he would be moving parish to take up a new post in Troon.
Fr Martin has supported our children on their faith journey in a unique and caring way. We will be sad to see him leave on the 30th June, however, we wish him well in his new role.
Fr Martin has been central to our Mount Carmel Family and will continue to always have a special place in our hearts.
Congratulations to all of our children in Primary 4 who recently made their First Communion. We will celebrate this as a class on Friday 2nd June. Children can bring party clothes to school, if they wish, which they can get changed into in the afternoon.

Primary 7 will take part in their next transition visit on Thursday 2nd March. Children will leave for St Josephs just after 9am and will be back at Mount Carmel for lunch time. Please note that children should wear full school uniform this day (not own clothes as part of World Book Day activities).
We have a number of children across the school with Gastro symptoms, Diarrhoea and/or vomiting. After seeking advice from the Health Protection Team they have asked for parents/carers to be reminded about the importance of washing hands and if a child does show symptoms they must be without these for 48hrs prior to returning to school.
As in previous years we will be selling class calendars. This will be a class picture. If you do not wish your child to be included in this class picture please contact the school directly today.
Class calendars will be available to order at the Christmas Fayre. Copies will then be given to the children before the end of term.
Please check school bags today for a letter about ticket allocation. Two tickets are available per family. Please complete the form and return to the school by Thursday 1st December so that tickets can be allocated.
As you are aware this is national antibullying week. At Mount Carmel Primary School we aim to be kind and caring friends. We know that bullying can happen at school and want to do our best to prevent these instances and provide the appropriate support for children and their adults if it was to occur. We are currently creating our statement to add to the East Ayrshire Antibullying Policy. Please take the time to complete this survey and share your views with us.
As you remember from our November Newsletter Primary 1-3 will be gifted a bag of book as part of Book Week Scotland. To celebrate this Primary 1-3 will complete some special activities in school on Monday 14th November. We are also asking that the children in Primary 1-3 come to school in their pyjamas.
