Well we definitely know how to have fun at MC. Here are a few pictures from our fantastic day on Wednesday (even if the good old Scottish weather meant we couldn’t go outside). We would like to give a great big shout out and thank you to our wonderful Friends of Mount Carmel who organised our fun day. We had a blast. We would also like to say a great big thank you to Deborah Boyd who has been an amazing friend of Mount Carmel for many years. She has been a parent at our school for the last 13 years and has helped organised many fun days! We will miss you and thank you Deborah 💙
Today we celebrated our final Mass with Fr Martin. We raised the roof with some of our favourite hymns and of course a special rendition of Super Crab! We can’t thank Fr Martin enough for all of the love and support he has shown in developing the faith of our school community. He will be greatly missed, however he will always hold a very special place in our Mount Carmel family.
If you have received a letter offering your child a space at Breakfast Club for Session 23/24 please return to the school office no later than Friday 30/6.
We currently have a waiting list for spaces at breakfast club therefore if we don’t receive your letter by this date accepting the place allocated to your child we will assume that the place is no longer required and allocate the space to one of our waiting list children.
Although the costumes have been packed away, the make up and face paint has finally washed off and the set has been dismantled, the memories of our Senior Show live on.
We are delighted to share some of the photos of the wonderful cast and crew of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
A reminder that tomorrow is our whole school fun day!!
This is a non uniform day .Children can come to school wearing comfortable, casual clothes as there will be bouncy castles etc. If the weather is not on our side, we will erect the bouncy castles/inflatables inside the school.
There will also be an ice cream van for the children in the afternoon, no money is required for this.
The whole school will be attending an End of Term Mass at 11am on Thursday 29th.
Our wonderful school choir will be singing and this will be a very poignant Mass for us as this will be our final one with Father Martin, so lets make it extra special!
Over the past few years the children have been supported by Jason; (you may have heard your children mention him.) Jason is part of a team that provide sports activities and games for our children. He has coordinated multi sports clubs and helped facilitate health inputs and transition games. The children are so fond of him and he has an excellent way of motivating and engaging them throughout! Jason is leaving us this year to pursue his dreams of becoming a teacher! We wish him luck and believe he will be outstanding in this role when the time comes!
Next week Primary 6 will embark on God’s Loving Plan.
God’s Loving Plan teaches children how to develop healthy and respectful attitudes to their bodies and all aspects of God’s gift of life. ‘God’s Loving Plan’ connects the Religious Education curriculum and the Health and wellbeing curriculum.
Any parents and carers who do not wish their child to be part of these lessons please contact the school by 3pm on Friday 23rd June.
We have been struck by the number of adverts, shop displays and social media posts about teacher/staff gifts at this time of year.
We want to let you know that none of this is necessary. It is upsetting to see that there is so much out there putting pressure on families to believe that this is what school staff expect. We don’t!
We do our jobs because we love it! We love your children and the best gift for us is having the privilege to be alongside them as they grow and develop.
So, once again we remind our families that a simple ‘Thank You’ is more than enough.

Unfortunately we will have no School Crossing Attendant available to help the kids cross the road on either Wednesday 21st June am & pm and also on Friday 23rd June am & pm.
Please ensure that if your child is walking to school or being dropped off that they are accompanied by a responsible person who can ensure that they arrive at school safely.
A reminder that the pupils MUST be in school no later than 8.15am on the morning of the trip as the buses will be leaving at 8.30am sharp and are unable to wait for any latecomers.
Buses are scheduled to return to the school at 3.30pm. All children will then be dismissed at 3.30pm from their classes.
Children to wear school jumpers, comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes. Snacks should be eg fruit, crisps etc – no large bags of sweets or crisps and as always no fizzy juice.
Please send your child with a plastic bag with their lunch/snack in it.
No schoolbags on the day.
Do not send money with your child as we will not be visiting the gift shop.
Reminder to all parents/carers that if you have any outstanding payments for breakfast club for the year 22/23 these must all be paid before we can offer your child a place on the breakfast club for academic session 23/24.
Reminder letters were placed in children’s bags on the 9th June.
As the children will be walking to and from Jungle Madness tomorrow can you please ensure that your child is dressed with appropriate cool/comfortable clothing and that they have adequate drinking water with them as well
What an incredible opening night of “The Wizard of Oz” ⭐️ Our cast were sensational and received rave views from their audience! We can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
