We enjoyed listening to and watching a performance of ‘The Typewriter Song’
We learned a bit about the history of typewriters and the Qwerty Keyboard.
We used a blend of colours to create our own design of QWERTY.
We celebrated Make music Day by singing and playing lots of different musical instruments outside in our courtyard.
Hooray for Music! 🙂

Banksy: Cut and Run 25 years card labour
18 June – 28 August 2023
The Street Artist known as Banksy has chosen Glasgow as the city to host his show called Cut & Run.
The exhibition will take place over 3 months at the GOMA-Gallery of Modern Art.
Banksy chose Glasgow because his ‘favourite work of art ‘ is there… The statue with the Traffic Cone on it’s head.
( The Duke of Wellington has been wearing a traffic cone for over 40 years )

Banksy makes stencils of ‘Heart Balloons’
We looked at a variety of images of one of his most well-known works ‘Girl with Balloon‘ by Banksy.
We enjoyed having a go at making and using our own simple ‘Heart Stencils’ with paper.

Worlds Ocean’s Day reminds us of the major role that the oceans have in everyday life.
Just like the forests, the oceans are lungs of the planet and a major source of food and medicine.
The oceans are also a critical part of the biosphere.
World Ocean’s day is held on the 8th of June each year.
The Theme for 2023 is ‘Planet Ocean : Tides are Changing’
We enjoyed the funny Story/Poem ‘Commotion in the Ocean’…
written by Giles Andreae and illustrated by David Wojtowycz.
There’s a curious commotion
At the bottom of the ocean
I think we ought to go and take a look…
What a lot of creatures
we have seen beneath the sea,
What a lot of funny things they do.
We enjoyed drawing some of the creatures…
Can you guess our favourite?
Photos coming soon…
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June. It was founded in 1972 by the United Nations as a day to do activities that help the environment. The environment means everything in the world around us, including all living things, mountains and rivers, climate and the air.
Theme for 2023: Beat Plastic Pollution
We made our own ‘Nature Themed’ necklaces to promote…
World Environment Day
We used card from boxes, odd bits of wool and milk bottle tops made of plastic.
We enjoyed listening to and joining in with ‘Tik Tik Plastic’ –
the official Beat Plastic Pollution Anthem for 2023,
We enjoyed mixing shades of our favourite colours during
Health Week.
