Congratulations to P3/4 and Mrs Harper who won our first ever Great Hillhead Bake Off with their apple filled cupcakes. Every class worked hard to make a variety of apple based tasty treats with apples from our very own orchard. Paul Hollywood would be proud!Â
A massive well done to our P6 and P7 Cross Country team who all performed extremely well to at The Ayrshire Athletics Arena. We even managed to get a 3rd place in the P6 Boys event.
As part of our Natural Disasters topic, we created buildings from spaghetti and marshmallow that we hoped could withstand a ‘table-shaking’ earthquake. Each team had a budget and each item had a price so we had to think carefully about the materials we needed. Our project Manager was responsible for the materials, the Treasurer was responsible for the budget, the Architect designed our structure and the Technology Director did the research. Afterwards, we tried out our structures to see if they could withstand an earthquake!
Each week, we take part in different Spelling activities to help us learn our words. This week we were using plasticine in creative ways, sign language, spelling activity cards and stencils. We mix it up each week to give us a chance to try new ways of learning.
We have been using Class Dojo to help us understand how we learn. This has helped us to be more confident in trying new challenges and accepting that sometimes we need help from others to succeed. We have created PowerPoints on this as we wanted to be able to share this information with others.
