P4/5 switched off the lights for the day to save energy, Global Goal 13!
We had spooky games in the dark in the hall and class before enjoying a party in the afternoon.

We observed the birds we could see from our playground and garden. We kept a tally of how many varieties we saw and found some feathers that we tried to identify.
As part of our commitment to Global Goal 13 and to East Ayrshire Clean Green Award and Eco Schools Scotland we went on a local community litter pick.
We harvested the carrots made in the garden and made them into a delicious carrot soup. We also made bird feeders with apples and sunflower seeds.
Primary 4/5 completed the co Schools environmental review. They identified what we are doing and what we could do. We identified one of the main issues is that the recycling bins for paper are not used correctly. The pupils’ designed posters to remind classes what should go in the paper bin.
Next they created a new Eco code for our school on the 4 key areas of Transport, Waste, Energy and Nature. The Eco leader from P7 came to select the most informative codes. These will now be displayed around the school. Well done p4/5!
