We had spooky games in the dark in the hall and class before enjoying a party in the afternoon.

We explored magnets, magnetism, the poles of a magnet and how they are used every day and the force of attraction or how they can repel.
We observed the birds we could see from our playground and garden. We kept a tally of how many varieties we saw and found some feathers that we tried to identify.
As part of our commitment to Global Goal 13 and to East Ayrshire Clean Green Award and Eco Schools Scotland we went on a local community litter pick.
As part of our ‘forces’ topic we were learning about air resistance this week. We made paper aeroplanes and parachutes. We tested them and evaluated then modified them to improve them.

We explored buoyancy and items that would float or sink. We discussed what the items were made of and why they were more likely to float or sink.
Today we were exploring foods that are healthy and unhealthy. We identified which ones we should have more or less of and chose foods that could be a healthy lunch choice. We discussed the impact of choosing too many unhealthy foods and why they are unhealthy.
We harvested the carrots made in the garden and made them into a delicious carrot soup. We also made bird feeders with apples and sunflower seeds.
Over the past few weeks we have been investigating forces on objects. We have created fair tests, changed variables and evaluated results. We have explored gravity, push, pull, height, friction and water resistance.
